Transpower – GPS Survey Campaign
In 2012 Transpower laid a new fibre optic cable from the Johnsonville-Porirua Motorway at Grenada to the Haywards Power Station. To ensure that Transpower’s rights were protected, easements were required to be placed on the titles of the underlying land. Many of the original surveys in the area were very old and of poor quality, so a network of survey control marks was required to connect the easements to the cadastre. Wigley and Roberts carried out a GPS survey campaign over a 2 week period and established approximately 30 survey control marks throughout the Belmont Regional Park.
